Statue of Liberty Restoration Since Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on the East Coast last fall, the aftermath of the storm is still being felt. The Statue of Liberty is one such landmark that suffered serious damage and is in the process of being restored. EP Henry is part of these efforts and is providing pavers (Brick Stone, Autumn Blend) for the 50,000 square-foot walkway surrounding the base of the statue.

This concrete walkway at the Heritage Bark Park in Henderson, NV was colored with Davis Colors’ Baja Red and finished with a broom finish.  The landscape design was done by the Design Workshop. Baja Red

The concrete contractor  Riverstone Stamp Concrete used Davis Colors’ Bayou integral pigment to color the concrete. They used Arizona Flagstone stamps from Proline Concrete Tools and a medium gray liquid release agent. After washing off the release agent, they returned to use a black grout to hand grout all the stamped joints to make it look like real stone. Cisco Systems' Campus - The walkway was colored with Davis Colors' Dark Gray (860) concrete color.  The walls were colored with Davis Colors Brick Red and 1117 at 5 lbs per sack of cement.  The walls all had varying degrees of exposure created by sand blasting the surface.   The concrete had varying levels of concrete colors to achieve the random look of a washed out terrain.

Mesa Buff

The Hoover Dam parking structure is a cast-in-place structure using pan slab forming.  It is tucked inside a steep ravine that has been partially blasted out to provide enough room for the structural footprint.  Stretching 540 ft. in length in a stepped down configuration, the structure is 165 ft. wide and three levels high at the rear, 215 ft. wide and five levels high in front.  The structure’s concrete is integrally colored to blend in with the surroundings canyon rock. The main pool deck was colored with Davis Colors’ Outback and given a light sand blast finish. The stamped concrete boarders were colored with Davis Colors’ Outback and highlighted with a terra cotta colored release agent. The concrete contractor was New Images Concrete. The Bakersfield Federal Courthouse project in Kern County, CA is a 17,500 square foot building consisting of cast-in-place shear walls, columns and decks, with exterior structural elements comprised of white cement, white pigment from Davis Colors and architectural site concrete. T.B. Penick & Sons, Inc. (www.tbpenick.com) performed the architectural concrete work. Gilbane Building Company of San Jose (www.gilbaneco.com ) was the general contractor, and the architect was NBBJ Architects (www.nbbj.com).
