Alpenglow Elementary School in Eagle River Alaska

This residence is located on the rugged coastline of the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Southern California. The concrete hardscapes were colored with Davis Colors’ Mesa Buff integral colored concrete.   The contractor was Gafcon, Inc. -  www.gafcon.com.  The architect was Nicole Starr from Marmol Radziner + Associates AIA - www.marmol-radziner.com.  Photograph by Benney Chan.

The Bakersfield Federal Courthouse project in Kern County, CA is a 17,500 square foot building consisting of cast-in-place shear walls, columns and decks, with exterior structural elements comprised of white cement, white pigment from Davis Colors and architectural site concrete. T.B. Penick & Sons, Inc. (www.tbpenick.com) performed the architectural concrete work. Gilbane Building Company of San Jose (www.gilbaneco.com ) was the general contractor, and the architect was NBBJ Architects (www.nbbj.com).

East Side Metro Project in Los Angeles, CA

Statue of Liberty Restoration
Since Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on the East Coast last fall, the aftermath of the storm is still being felt.  The Statue of Liberty is one such landmark that suffered serious damage and is in the process of being restored.  EP Henry is part of these efforts and is providing pavers (Brick Stone, Autumn Blend) for the 50,000 square-foot walkway surrounding the base of the statue. Cisco Systems' Campus - The walkway was colored with Davis Colors' Dark Gray (860) concrete color. The walls were colored with Davis Colors Brick Red and 1117 at 5 lbs per sack of cement. The walls all had varying degrees of exposure created by sand blasting the surface. The concrete had varying levels of concrete colors to achieve the random look of a washed out terrain.

This concrete walkway at the Heritage Bark Park in Henderson, NV was colored with Davis Colors’ Baja Red and finished with a broom finish.  The landscape design was done by the Design Workshop. Heritage Bark Park in Henderson, NV

Before the Hoover Dam parking structure was built concrete mock-ups with different colors and finishes were made.  The final color chosen was Davis Colors’ Omaha Tan with a sandblasted finish.  Davis Colors' iron oxide pigments do not fade even in the extreme heat and sunlight of the Nevada desert.

The concrete colors at the Jackie Lee Houston Plaza in Palm Springs, CA are Davis Colors’ Salmon with an exposed aggregate finish and Mesa Buff with a light broom finish. This enormous keystone retaining wall in Abingdon Maryland was built by Griffith Brothers Inc. (410-683-8885) with Keystone Standard units manufactured York Building Products (www.yorkbuilding.com). The colors used were buff, light brown and dark brown.

The Huntington Hospital in Pasadena California selected Orco Paving Stones’ Del Mar pavers for their simplicity and sophistication.  The Del Mar pavers were colored with Davis Colors’ pigments which Orco used to create their own Dusk Canyon (B21) color blend. The main pool deck was colored with Davis Colors’ Outback and given a light sand blast finish. The stamped concrete boarders were colored with Davis Colors’ Outback and highlighted with a terra cotta colored release agent. The concrete contractor was New Images Concrete. This is a photo of Los Angeles Metro's Gold Line.  The color of the concrete rail line is Davis Colors' Palomino.

The concrete contractor  Riverstone Stamp Concrete used Davis Colors’ Bayou integral pigment to color the concrete. They used Arizona Flagstone stamps from Proline Concrete Tools and a medium gray liquid release agent. After washing off the release agent, they returned to use a black grout to hand grout all the stamped joints to make it look like real stone. Meadowbrook Village in Escondido, CA selected Davis Colors' Pradre Brown (dark brown) and Meadowbrook Tan (custom color) for their front entrance to their PCU facility. The colored concrete was supplied by Superior Ready Mix (www.superiorrm.com).

Creative Design Resolutions, Inc. designed a 1600 square foot custom concrete Fotera™ mural for the new $2B National Harbor building project in Maryland. It is believed to be the largest concrete Fotera™ mural of its kind in the world. This elaborate hardscape mural used many concrete pigments from Davis Colors.

This is a photo of Pier 32 Marina located in National City near San Diego, CA.  The upper concrete sidewalk was colored with Davis Colors’ Spanish Gold (www.daviscolors.com). Trader Joe’s Project In Carlsbad, CA

The front entry to the University of Western States (uws.edu) anatomy lab .  The cast in place concrete walls were colored with  Davis Colors "Green Slate" (daviscolors.com). The architect was Office OA, LLC (ooa-architects.com), the general contractor was Precision Concrete Company (T: 503-253-4827), and the concrete contractor was Whitaker/Ellis (T: 503-768-3017).
